FEMA's Proposed Flood Maps and Study For The District Of Columbia

On September 26, 2007, FEMA proposed a rule with which to define Base Flood Elevations (“BFEs”) and modifications to the BFEs that a community would be required to adopt, or show evidence of being already in effect, in order to qualify or remain qualified for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program.

  • FEMA's Proposed Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM)

If you wish to view the maps depicting the existing BFEs and the proposed modifications to the BFEs in your neighborhood, locate your neighborhood on the map below, and identify the map square number to which it corresponds. You may then click on the map square number link that corresponds to the area of interest.

For example, if you wish to view the flood map for the Washington Monuments and Smithsonian Museum area, you would first locate it on the map, 0018C thru 0019C. Then click the corresponding numbers on the left for to view the flood map for those specific areas.
